The English Club

The Committee invites you to our traditional Christmas Dinner taking place December 6th, 2025. 

We will start with a sherry reception at 6pm and have the meal afterwards.

The price of 40€ includes the meal, wine and water as well as the sherry. The price for non-members is € 47,-

Please register by November 15th by emailling info@englishclub.de and please confirm that you have transferred the money to the Club's account (please indicate "Christmas Dinner" as transfer reference). Your registration is only valid once you have paid.

As every year there will be a Julklapp so we kindly ask you to bring a little present worth between € 5 -10.

In case you are vegetarian/vegan please let us now.

If you would like to support the organisation team please talk to one of the Committee members.

To allow far flung members to continue to meet, we have Online Club nights.   

The next meeting will be Sunday 7 December, at 19:00. 

We usually meet every second Sunday, but the schedule might change, so check back here, or send an email, to find out when the future meetings will be.

The Advent coffee & cake afternoon will take place December 14th at 3 pm.

We will have (Irish?) coffee, mulled wine, and, of course, sing Christmas carols.

On January 17th, 2026 we will pay tribute to Scotland’s own National Bard, Robert Burns, by reciting his poems, drinking Whisky and enjoying haggis, tatties and neeps.

If you would like to support the organisers, either in preparing for the event or on the night, please let us know.

The English Book Club gathers together to discuss a book, or poems, or something else literary. Old and new participants are welcome to join us.

The next online meeting will be in 31 January at 7pm. We are reading Sarah Winman's to Tin Man.

We had planned to have a 20s party at the Club to mark the start of the 2020s. Unfortunately 2020 wasn't a good year for parties. But it is still on the agenda, as soon as we can. Watch this space for updates.
