The English Club

The Advent coffee & cake afternoon will take place December 14th at 3 pm.

We will have (Irish?) coffee, mulled wine, and, of course, sing Christmas carols.

To allow far flung members to continue to meet, we have Online Club nights.

On January 17th, 2026 we will pay tribute to Scotland’s own National Bard, Robert Burns, by reciting his poems, drinking Whisky and enjoying haggis, tatties and neeps.

The price is 30€ (37€ for non-members), it includes the meal, water, wine and a whisky for the toast.

Please register for this event by email to info@englishclub.de and confirm that you have transferred the money to the Club's account (please indicate "Robert Burns Night" as transfer reference). Note: Your seat is only guaranteed once you have paid.

Deadline for registration is January 2nd, 2026.

In case you are vegetarian please indicate this in your registration.

We need helpers for the preparations in the afternoon. If you can support the organisers please let us know.

Doors open at 18hrs, the supper will start around 19hrs.

The English Book Club gathers together to discuss a book, or poems, or something else literary. Old and new participants are welcome to join us.

The next online meeting will be in 31 January at 7pm. We are reading Sarah Winman's to Tin Man.

We had planned to have a 20s party at the Club to mark the start of the 2020s. Unfortunately 2020 wasn't a good year for parties. But it is still on the agenda, as soon as we can. Watch this space for updates.
